The Sky at Night 1986 -
Overview:Astronomers in Australia have just announced the discovery of the most remote object known to science. It is a quasar - an object whose nature is not known with certainty but which is so far away that its light comes to us after a journey which has lasted for longer than the whole history of the Earth. Patrick Moore talks to Professor Sir Francis Graham Smith , the Astronomer Royal, about this remarkable discovery and its significance.
