Overview:From the Royal Albert Hall, Petroc Trelawny presents a Prom to mark the centenary of the birth of Benjamin Britten, one of the greatest British composers of the 20th century. The virtuoso violinist Janine Jansen joins the Orchestre de Paris and conductor Paavo Jarvi to perform one of Britten's masterworks, the evocative Violin Concerto. Also in the programme is Arvo Part's Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten, Berlioz's overture Le Corsaire and Saint-Saens's Organ Symphony with soloist Thierry Escaich.
